Senior Pastor Bio

Pastor Staley was born to Brother Easu Jr. and Sister Claudia Staley.  He is the third of six children.  He is the Grandson of Esau Staley Sr. and Fancie (Staley) Stapleton.  At age twelve he accepted the Lord and was baptized by the late Reverend Herbert Harris at the Fairmount Baptist Church. 

 Pastor Staley attended the public schools in Chatham County.  He is a graduate of A. E. Beach High School,  class of 1981.  In January 1982 he joined United Sates Coast Guard.  He continued his education in the military receiving credits towards his Bachelor's Degree.  He attended Bryant Theological Seminary and is currently attending Savannah Technical College.

While in the Military, Pastor Staley served on various bases throughout the United States including a tour overseas.  He is a true humanitarian.  He worked countless hours in drug intervention and search and rescue.  During his  last six years  in the military he worked as a Recruiter for the United States Coast Guard.  

Pastor Staley professionalism and exemplary leadership has earned him over sixteen awards, which in include six Coast Guard Achievement Medals and Coast Guard Unit/Meritorious Commendation Medals.  His perseverance and devotion to military duty helped the Coast Guard to exceed the nation average for minority accessions.

Pastor Staley is married to Pamela Bates Staley.  They have been blessed with four children and four grandchildren.  Pastor Staley is truly a servant of God.  Before coming into the Ministry, he served on the Deacon and Trustee Boards, served as Choir Director and Assistant Sunday School Teacher.  He is also a member of the Zion Sunday School and Baptist Training Union.  Pastor Staley became a licensed and ordained Minister under the leadership of Pastor Henrietta B. Lovett who was the Pastor of Fairmount Baptist Church at that time.  Also with special encouragement from the  late Rev. Herbert Harris.

Pastor Staley decided it was time to take his ministry to a higher level.  On December 1, 2004, he retired from the United States Coast Guard with having almost 23 years of honorable service.  In July 2005 he was elected as Pastor-Elect of the Fairmount Baptist Church.  Pastor Henrietta B. Lovett stated that the Lord had gave her a vision that he should be the Pastor. She resigned as Pastor and the Church elected Pastor Staley to carry on the vision.  Pastor Lovett installed Pastor Staley the fourth Sunday September 23, 2005 as Pastor of the Church.
