For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
About Us
Statement of Faith
We believe the Scriptures teach that there is one, and only one, living and true God, and infinite, intelligent Spirit, whose name is Jehovah, the Maker and Supreme ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor confidence and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the father, the son and the Holy Ghost; equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.
Church History
The Fairmount Baptist Church was established in nineteen hundred and two. God gave a precious idea to a group of people to organize a church. They were lead by Rev. Henry Dunbar. The group started out having service from house to house in the community then call Saxville. They became strong enough in faith and unity and decided to build a church. The lot was donated as a gift by Rev. Dunbar, and located on 57th and Waters avenue. Rev. Dunbar, the minister among the organizers, was called as pastor and served them well until he became ill and was eventually placed in an institution.
The church remained in the Saxville Community from 1902-1951. For reason beyond control, the lot had to be moved. a. new lot was purchased (present location) and the original building was physically moved under the leadership of Rev. Charlie Reese with the membership of 21 persons.
